First Annual Cincinnati OTR Trivia Bowl

Friday, May 8, 2010 - 8:00 pm

1.  Teams will consist of four members, with a 12-team limit.  No cost to enter.  First come, first served.  Get your entry in today!

2.  Prizes will be donated by OTR dealers.

3.  Teams may be formed early.  Email danhughesmail@gmail.com to reserve your team spot.  List your four members and your team name (Mystic Knights of the Sea, Sacred Stars of the Milky Way).  The crazier the better.  Teams will be posted on the Cincinnati OTR Discussion Board as they are entered.

4.  If the field has not been filled by convention time, individual members may enter at the convention and will be assigned to a team.  Individuals will register as "Knowledgeable" or "Novice," and I will try to put teams together which have players from each group.

5.  Contest will last for one hour.  When the hour is up, the set of questions being asked will be completed and the contest will then end.  Prizes will be awarded and correct answers will be given.

6.  Questions will be asked in sets of 10.  Each set will have a particular theme, like Sitcoms, Westerns, Commercials, etc.

7.  Any team member may write the agreed-upon answer on the answer sheet, as long as it is legible.  PRINT!  If the judges can't read the answer, the answer will be considered incorrect.  Scrap paper will be provided so teammates can write individual answers to show each other, then the final answer will be transferred to the official answer sheet.  (NOTE:  Conferring should be done silently, or at least quietly enough that no other team can overhear your answers).

8.  Answer sheets will be collected after each set of 10 questions, and judges will compile scores.

9.  Every correct answer is worth one point.  Judges may award a half-point for an answer that is mostly correct.  There are no bonus questions or extra-credit questions.

10.  Scores will be posted after each round, so the audience can follow the progress of each team.

11.  The team with the most points at the end of the contest will be declared the winner.

12.  If there is a tie at the end, the teams tied for the lead will do 10-question overtimes until there is a winner.

13.  Decision of the judges is final.
